Antifreeze temperature sensors Thermo Top EVO (VEVO/V) round connector

On TT-V, TT-EVO and TT-VEVO heaters, the antifreeze temperature is controlled by two sensors installed on the heat exchanger.

The temperature sensor registers the temperature of the coolant in the heater exchanger as an electrical resistance. This signal is received by the control unit and processed there. The temperature sensor (W5) and the overheating sensor (W6) together with the wiring and connector form one assembly. An overheating sensor protects
the heater against impermissibly high operating temperatures. It works at temperatures above 125°C and turns off the heater.

The sensor seals must be soaked in water or coolant before installation in the heat exchanger.

Sensor resistance at 20+-6°C is:

temperature sensor W5 ((NTC closest to the connector, pins 2 and 4) from 2300 to 5000 Ohm

overheating sensor W6 (PTC farthest from the connector, pins 1 and 3) from 30 to 250 Ohm

In addition, check their short circuit to the case, pinching wires and deformation of plastic covers.
